Software Engineer II, Data, Autonomy

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join the Autonomy org, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building data infrastructure on AWS using services like S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, and IAM
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Apache Spark
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data processing patterns

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for vehicle telemetry and system logs
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement data solutions for autonomy features
• Optimize ETL processes and build Spark-based processing jobs using Databricks
• Ensure data quality and validation for model development and safety evaluation
• Implement observability, automation, and CI/CD for data workflows
• Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to enable seamless access to datasets
• Support global fleet expansion and contribute to documentation and codebase maintainability
