Cockpit & Trim, Mechanical Design and Release Engineer II

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Cockpit and Trim Engineering team in Irvine, CA, to design and develop plastic injection molded components for their electric vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering minimum (Masters Degree Preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience in automotive or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in Catia V5/V6 including sketcher, GSD and part workbenches preferred
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, thermal forming, 3D printing, and cut/sew/wrapping
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles
• Eagerness to learn and excellent communication skills
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support vehicle launch activities

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and model class A plastic injection molded components for the interior of Rivian vehicles from concept through production
• Collaborate closely with studio designers to achieve design themes
• Develop the engineering bill of materials and perform change management using Enovia
• Support the creation of Product Validation plans and coordinate validation activities
• Exhibit 'Rivian Compass' values in everything you do
