Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (3D solid modeling CAD/ ProE/Creo)

Job Description

KLA is seeking a Research Scientist to join their RAPID division as a mechanical design engineer. The role involves designing and analyzing mechanical systems, conducting feasibility studies, creating detailed drawings, and providing solutions for precision mechanisms and control.

Requirements

• Good understanding of physics and mechanics
• Proficient in 3D solid modeling CAD
• Experience in mechanical design, testing, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes
• Experience with semiconductor equipment or similar instruments is desirable

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging
• Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
• Create detailed part and assembly drawings
• Write test, alignment, manufacturing procedures, service manuals, etc.
• Develop and build test stands to demonstrate designs meet requirements
• Provide solutions for precision mechanisms and control
• Develop design information for packaging documentation
• Perform calculations and computer simulations to verify functionality
• Work cross-functionally to implement design best practices
