Mechatronics NPI Engineer

Job Description

Join KLA's FaST Division as a New Product Introduction (NPI) product development engineer to support the division's new product development process and contribute to the creation and release of critical items for semiconductor IC manufacturers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechatronics, mechanical, optical, industrial, or manufacturing) or physics, or at least 5 years of demonstrated ability in an NPI role
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with building and testing electromechanical sub-systems, stages, controllers, and motors
• Experience with optical-based semiconductor inspection/metrology equipment a plus
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software, preferably ProE/CREO a plus
• Motivated self-starter with solid analytical skills, ability to adapt, persevere, and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Build and test electrical and electromechanical assemblies for design validation and assembly procedure development
• Propose new insights and improvements, identify and review design requirements, and drive crucial program decisions
• Generate and release the product Bill of Material (BOM) and assembly procedures
• Drive the development of alignment/test tooling and packaging for assembly and shipment
• Support prototype material organization, field service team coordination, issue investigation and resolution, and continuous improvement projects
• Create, review, and submit engineering change orders (ECOs), make data-driven decisions, and complete tasks/projects diligently
