Senior Mechatronics Engineer

Job Description

KLA is looking for a research scientist/engineer to work on precision motion control for nanometer-level motion stages in the semiconductor industry.

Requirements

• Doctorate (Academic) Degree with 3 years related work experience, or Master's Level Degree with 6 years related work experience, or Bachelor's Level Degree with 8 years related work experience
• Background in precision motion control
• Experience working with semiconductor equipment in cleanroom environments
• Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink tools for controller development and tuning
• Ability to develop Python scripts for data analysis

Responsibilities

• Perform controller tuning, performance characterization, and troubleshooting for nanometer-level precision motion stage
• Define requirements for stage testing and develop data processing tools in Python
• Characterize dynamic performance at the inspection station level
• Analyze observed behavior and implement improvements as needed
• Work with cross-functional team to bring prototype systems online and test complex calibrations and algorithms
• Participate in Alpha and Beta testing at customer sites
