Controls Engineer - Senior

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer – Senior to join our team specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins’ business in Whitakers, NC.

Requirements

• College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
• Basic level of relevant work experience in controls engineering, or automation.
• Familiarity with PLC hardware/software and troubleshooting techniques, specifically Allen-Bradley and Siemens controls.
• Understanding of manufacturing environments and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Innovative Control Systems development and design to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Implementing precision testing to ensure systems meet stringent specifications.
• Optimizing functionality by altering software and equipment to maintain system integrity.
• Supporting and debugging complex issues to minimize downtime.
• Preparing accurate cost estimates and compiling necessary information for budgeting and resource allocation.
• Investigating project requirements and developing solutions for sustainable outcomes.
• Providing technical support for PLC-based hardware and software.
• Coaching and mentoring less experienced Controls Engineers for continuous improvement.
