Sr. Battery Test Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Battery Safety and Abuse engineer to help develop safe battery systems through testing and validation efforts.

Requirements

• BS or MS in material science/engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline
• 3-4 years working in a testing/data collection environment
• Familiarity with DFSS or DRM tools (such as VOC, FMEA, 5-Why, 8-D)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal)

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and perform data analysis for Safety and Abuse tests on batteries and high voltage sub-systems
• Support in-depth analyses within various disciplines such as materials, chemical, mechanical, electrical, thermal, and CAE correlation
• Develop data analysis and automation scripts to improve workflow
• Coordinate test efforts with cross-functional teams, external labs, and/or suppliers
• Identify and pursue continuous learning opportunities to enhance technical depth
