Staff Drive-Unit System Modeling and Integration Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a propulsion system modeling engineer to develop virtual battery, drive unit, and thermal systems for Electric Adventure Vehicles.

Requirements

• Strong experience with MatLab, Simulink
• Model integration experience
• Familiarity with Electrical, Thermal, and Control domains
• Experience in at least 1 other Propulsion Subsystem
• Experience with EV use cases and attribute cycles
• Familiarity with physical test data
• Git version control experience

Responsibilities

• Work with downstream Drive-unit sub-system component leads to develop high efficiency drive unit systems
• Estimate design cost of technical solutions
• Detail Simulink model requirements
• Integrate Drive-unit system models with Battery and Thermal systems
• Use version control, model testing, and a robust release process
• Contribute to Propulsion Spec sheet
• Run model standard test-cases
• Contribute to the development and optimization of battery, drive units, and thermal systems
