Systems Design Engineer

Job Description

KLA is looking for a research scientist/engineer with a strong background in engineering or physical science to work on optical inspection systems for semiconductor manufacturing.

Requirements

• Strong background in engineering or physical science
• Experience with Optical, Electromechanical, and Software systems
• Ability to run large scale data analysis
• Familiarity with scientific and statistical analysis tools
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python
• Strong skills in calibration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting in optics and motion control systems
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• PhD or Master's in applied optics, mechanical/electrical engineering, physics, or related disciplines

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis and problem-solving related to optical inspection systems
• Run large scale data analysis to provide insights
• Calibrate and troubleshoot system and subsystem components
• Lead the team in development and escalations
• Communicate technical information with functional groups and provide reports to management and customers
