FOC Technical Specialist, Facilities Operations Center

Job Description

The AWS Data Center Community (DCC) organization is seeking a skilled individual with leadership experience to join the Facility Operation Center (FOC) team at Amazon. This role involves overseeing the monitoring of life-safety systems and infrastructure equipment alarms globally, as well as supporting Data Center Engineer Operations teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience directly related to data center or mission critical facility design and operations
• 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
• 3+ years experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• 3+ year of experience performing complex data analysis to justify technical decisions, and present the justification to management in a high level review

Responsibilities

• Act as a backup for the Lead FOC Engineer
• Provide support during Critical Site (CSE) and Large Scale (LSE) events
• Deep dive into post-event data and review After Action Reports (AAR)
• Meet or exceed FOC KPI’s in project delivery and efficiency improvements
• Locate systemic infrastructure issues using data-driven analysis
• Collaborate with external teams to implement new processes
• Create and maintain FOC technical documentation
• Manage technical training and ensure engineers meet required standards
• Drive process improvement of FOC operations and ensure runbook compliance
• Design, create, and implement learning content and assessments
• Facilitate workshops and training programs
• Act as FOC POC in the COE process
