Rivian is seeking a Senior Design Release Engineer for Half Shafts to guide and shape driveline components.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience required
Degree in mechanical engineering preferred
Experience in driveline, transmission, or eAxle fundamentals
Knowledge of casting process, machining methods, and gear analysis
CAD knowledge and working experience in 3D and drawing creation
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional group setting
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning, Tolerancing, and stacks
Responsibilities
Lead design of driveline components from concept to production release
Perform research, design, and development of components and subsystems
Release driveline components for prototype and production using Rivian product release process
Create specifications and requirements with suppliers
Lead and liaise with suppliers and manufacturing for component specifications
Provide technical support for root cause analysis and system analysis
Coordinate design reviews of components and subsystems
Develop component DVPR and DFMEA and participate in system level DFMEA
