Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Design and develop opto-mechanical precision components and assemblies for reticle inspection systems at KLA, a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years work experience in 3D solid modeling
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication, and castings
• Knowledge in the design of mechanisms
• Basic understanding of optical subsystems
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Teamwork skills to collaborate with other stakeholder groups

Responsibilities

• Define requirements, perform feasibility studies, develop concepts, and create detailed 3D models
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and generate drawings using Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Conduct engineering calculations and FEA simulations for structural, modal, and thermal analyses
• Conduct design reviews to implement multi-functional group input into final design
• Help build and test prototypes, support system integration and validation
• Support release and handoff to manufacturing through engineering documentation
