Staff Dynamics Engineer, Drivability

Job Description

Join Rivian and play a critical role in defining the performance of Electric Adventure Vehicles by calibrating and testing vehicles against requirements.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering)
• 8+ years experience in Automotive Development or similar industry preferred
• Deep knowledge of control systems, vehicle dynamics and electric powertrains
• Experience in C, C++, MATLAB, Python, Simulink
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Define how the driver interfaces with the vehicle for accelerating and decelerating
• Lead and drive vehicle-level target setting, calibration, and general development of drivability functions
• Benchmark competitive vehicles and refine Rivian's target metrics
• Work seamlessly with Controls team to integrate and test new control algorithms
• Utilize full vehicle simulation models to optimize vehicle platform development
• Communicate cross-functionally with Chassis, Powertrain, Testing, and Controls teams
