Manager, Exterior Engineering

Job Description

Rivian is seeking an Engineering Manager for Body Exteriors to lead a team in delivering automotive Body Exterior Systems that exceed program requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science in an engineering discipline (Masters degree and significant experience is a plus)
• 3+ years of firsthand experience leading teams in developing, validating, and launching vehicle Body Exterior Systems into production
• Strong understanding of the first-principal physics & requirements of Body Exterior Systems
• Detailed understanding of manufacturing, materials, processes, and schedules utilized in the development of exterior components
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and develop roadmaps for their professional development
• Build, lead, and develop a world-class team of engineers to successfully launch Rivian Exterior Systems
• Lead process and standard improvements within Exterior and Rivian Engineering
• Adopt a Systems Engineering approach for Exteriors to deliver world-class execution of designs
• Ensure component development achieves program milestone requirements including quality, appearance, timing, cost, investment, and sustainability
