Systems Development Engineer II, AI/ML Amazon Dedicated Cloud

Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Systems Development Engineer II to own and advance mission-critical services in our Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADC). This is an opportunity to design, build, and operate systems on a massive scale in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver technology solutions to solve difficult business problems, improving resilience, performance, and operational efficiency of systems
• Work autonomously on components, applications, and technology solutions that enhance a major portion of products or applications
• Identify and solve ambiguous problems, architectural deficiencies, or areas where systems hinder innovation
• Improve engineering and operational processes within the team and partner teams
• Participate in design, scoping, and prioritization discussions, making technical trade-offs and calculating costs of proposed solutions
• Lead reviews of architecture, design, operations, and post-incident analysis for the team
• Troubleshoot difficult problems, researching root causes and thoroughly resolving defects
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the hiring process
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support mission-critical services
