Job Description

The Controls Graphical Design Engineer role at AWS Infrastructure Services involves tracking, documenting, communicating, and enhancing global data center design standards with a focus on control, automation, and electrical power monitoring systems.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of building operations, mechanical plant strategies, BMS/EPMS programming concepts, and control diagrams
• Experience in data center redundancy, mechanical failure strategies, energy and water conservation best practices, and data reporting analytics
• Knowledge of operating in high security critical environments
• Experience in innovation of new solutions and leading collaboration with multiple teams
• Experience in creating and maintaining specification documents for global projects
• Experience in vendor selection, bid review, RFI support, and coordination
• Ability to interact with AWS cloud services and other applications for data analysis
• Willingness to travel globally when needed and manage project initiatives
• Ability to anticipate roadblocks and risks while providing escalation management

Responsibilities

• Capturing all new design iterations and conveying how each will be graphically represented as a standard
• Managing new design changes and document revisions for all AWS DC project categories globally
• Developing a standard graphical user interface for controls systems
• Collaborating with teams to ensure a standardized controls look and feel across facilities
• Creating graphical views that allow for quick reference and alarm assessment
