Job Description

The Sub-Same Day (SSD) Design Engineering team is seeking an innovative design engineer to lead new initiatives in industrial building designs, leveraging advanced technologies for Amazon's last mile network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent
  • 2+ years Experience in Design Engineering or Industrial engineering with automated material handling equipment, control systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing (or equivalent related experience)
  • 2+ years Experience with system architecture, system simulation and analysis, optimization, statistical analysis and reliability analysis
  • 2+ years Experience with ownership/management of engineering design projects
  • 2+ years Experience using business/technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D CAD drawings of delivery station layouts integrating conveyor systems, sorting equipment, and automation solutions
  • Lead design efforts to develop optimal last-mile delivery station solutions
  • Develop and present technical documents detailing design specifications and engineering rationale
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate cost-effective solutions
  • Translate strategic visions into technical solutions and communicate ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Continuously refine designs based on feedback, operational data, and emerging technologies
  • Ensure all design solutions meet safety standards, operational requirements, and sustainability goals
  • Stay current with CAD technologies and best practices in industrial design
  • Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices within the organization
