Operations Engineer, SSD Engineering

Job Description

The SSD Design Engineering team is seeking an innovative design engineer to lead new initiatives and develop cutting-edge industrial building designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent
• 2+ years Experience in Design Engineering or Industrial engineering with automated material handling equipment, control systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing (or equivalent related experience).
• 2+ years Experience with system architecture, system simulation and analysis, optimization, statistical analysis and reliability analysis
• 2+ years Experience with ownership/management of engineering design projects
• 2+ years Experience using business/technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D CAD drawings of delivery station layouts integrating conveyor systems, sorting equipment, and automation solutions based on operational requirements and capacity targets.
• Lead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal last-mile delivery station solutions incorporating advanced material handling equipment, automation technologies, and modular systems.
• Develop and present comprehensive technical documents detailing design specifications, engineering rationale, and alignment with business goals and requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
• Translate strategic visions into detailed roadmaps and specific technical solutions, communicating complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Refine and iterate designs based on feedback, operational data, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure all design solutions meet safety standards, operational requirements, and sustainability goals while optimizing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Stay current with the latest CAD technologies and best practices in industrial design to ensure optimal use of design tools and methodologies.
• Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices within the organization.
