Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continual access to innovation for customers.

Requirements

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience
• High school or equivalent diploma

Responsibilities

• Involved with projects of moderate complexity
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)
• Perform rack installs, decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
• Responsible for on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors
• Monitor performance of maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
• Ensure safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
• Assist with basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, and building management systems
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment for 99.999% uptime
• Support more than one location/site
• Walk job sites in uneven terrain, perform construction tasks on a ladder, lift and/or move weights, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push, and pull
