Job Description

Amazon seeks a Data Center Facility Manager to serve as a leader and technical expert within Amazon data centers, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline, or relevant experience.
• 5+ years experience working in data centers or critical infrastructure with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
• 3+ years experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
• Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications preferred.
• 7+ years experience working in data centers, critical facility operations, or other relevant industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the data center critical physical infrastructure.
• Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians and prioritize tasks.
• Manage the operations budget and expenditures effectively.
• Engage in improvement projects and drive them to completion.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
• Test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products and equipment.
• Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.
• Regularly lift and move items, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push, and pull.
• Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
• Perform extended site rounds, work at depths, in noisy environments, and support multiple locations/sites.
