Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continual access to innovation on the cloud.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in a mission-critical infrastructure or equivalent experience in a relevant industry
• 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products
• High school or equivalent diploma

Responsibilities

• Involved with projects of moderate complexity
• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA
• Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
• Responsible for on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors
• Monitor performance of maintenance and operations on all equipment within the data center
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures
• Assist with basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, writing procedures, and building management systems
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% up-time
• Walk job sites in uneven terrain, perform construction tasks while on a ladder, lift and move weights, use hands and fingers, climb stairs, bend, work above shoulders, etc.
