Engineering Operations Technician

Job Description

Join the AWS Data Center Engineering Operations team to maintain and operate critical infrastructure systems supporting global AWS data centers.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years’ of equivalent experience in a relevant industry
• 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events
• Perform rack installs, decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
• Responsible for on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors
• Performance and oversight of maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures
• Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, and writing procedures
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring high up-time
• Walk job sites in uneven terrain, lift heavy objects, and perform construction tasks
