Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Job Description

Join the AWS Data Center Engineering Operations team to maintain and operate critical infrastructure systems for AWS global infrastructure.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years’ equivalent experience in a relevant industry (electrical or mechanical)
• 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation and reduce operational costs in facilities
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events
• Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and operational readings
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
• Manage contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors on-site
• Oversee maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
• Ensure safety procedures are followed
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment for 99.999% uptime
• Walk job sites in uneven terrain and perform construction tasks
• Regularly lift and move equipment
• Work on a schedule that may include 12-hour shifts and on-call rotations
