Critical Infrastructure Fire Protection Engineer (Field Engineering), DCC Communities

Job Description

The Amazon Critical Infrastructure Field Engineer provides full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
• Cumulative 5+ years of experience in engineering or the construction industry related to all aspects of fire protection
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation by start date

Responsibilities

• Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in the region
• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for failures
• Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training and event support
• Mentor and train customers and partner engineers in fire protection principles
• Own conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions
• Interface with internal data center operations team, design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographic regions
• Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon's data centers
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
