Sr Network DEV Engineer, Kuiper Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) Team

Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon's effort to launch a group of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide fast, affordable broadband globally. The Senior Network Development Engineer will design network automation services for monitoring and troubleshooting the Kuiper Satellite Network.

Requirements

• 5+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
• 5+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 5+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment
• 5+ years of experience in Optical network design, deployment, troubleshooting, operations, and diagnostics
• 5+ years of experience in developing network automation services for debugging, troubleshooting, and diagnostics complex networking problems
• 5+ years of experience in developing network automation alarming, correlation, and dashboards for fault resolution
• 5+ years of experience in developing complex troubleshooting workflows to auto remediate network problems
• 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying software packages, services using cloud services such as AWS

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, and technology refresh
• Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features
• Automate optical test plans and qualify optical modules
• Perform on-call rotation to provide monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalation support
