Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking talented individuals to join their team in maintaining and operating all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continual access to innovation for customers.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or degree in a relevant field (e.g., electrical, mechanical)
• 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 3+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues
• Oversee operation and management of critical systems
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians
• Create and deploy new standard practices for technicians and vendor support teams
• Assist in the build out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency
• Ensure safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
• Establish building performance benchmarks and prepare reports on critical facility operations
• Work with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects and optimize plant safety and performance
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other administrative tools
• Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment
• Direct, train, and support technicians in hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting
• Manage projects from conception to completion
• Create and deliver key milestones, obtain and track quotes, and document project results
• Collaborate with external support groups in local and global settings
