Sr. Software Development Engineer - BMC, AWS Hardware Engineering Services

Job Description

The AWS Firmware team drives system innovation in the servers used by all of Amazon Web Services, including EC2, S3, CloudFront. They are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Development engineer to build and own the server related firmware.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Experience developing embedded systems
• Experience with software development for server platforms
• Working knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Shell, or other similar scripting languages
• Understanding of Intel architecture
• Understanding of server platform design and architecture
• Experience with IPMI and BMC development

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of world-class software developers to create innovative, scalable solutions for real-world data center infrastructure problems
• Build, validate, and support firmware in diverse technology domains from embedded software to large-scale distributed software systems
• Collaborate with various teams across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing continuous access to innovation
