Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer, Amazon Robotics Hardware Test

Job Description

Amazon Robotics is seeking a self-driven individual to join the Failure Analysis Team at Amazon Robotics in Westborough MA. The team is responsible for non-destructive and destructive failure analysis on AR products and conducting advanced material characterization for guiding design and process changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related engineering field with 3+ years industry experience
• Hands-on experience with various characterization techniques
• Experience on analyzing fracture surfaces and identifying failure modes
• Creating comprehensive technical reports
• Excellent verbal and written communications
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
• Be able to work in a lab setting analyzing failures

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on root cause analysis and in-depth failure characterizations
• Collaborate with different teams to identify root causes and drive resolution for failures
• Utilize expertise in materials science and mechanics to drive corrective actions
• Collaborate with test engineering and design team for planning and execution
• Write failure analysis reports, deliver presentations, and suggest possible solutions
• Maintain RCA repository database, develop failure analysis SOPs and troubleshooting procedures
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, manage and train Failure Analysis Engineers and Technicians
• Lab organization and detailed documentation leading to effective FA reports
