Sr. Colo Electrical Engineer, Colocation Regional Engineering (CRE)

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking an engineer with a passion for data center design to join their team responsible for maintaining the cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related discipline, or 10 years commensurate industry or military experience in lieu of degree
• Cumulative 6+ years of focused experience in Data Center or Carrier-class Telecommunications design, engineering, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) of data center critical environment infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Conducting site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and telecommunications facilities within the region
• Reviewing vendor critical infrastructure designs and performing risk analysis and availability calculations
• Troubleshooting, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and creating Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures
• Leading and approving designs for data center upgrades and improvements in efficiency and availability
• Initiating and leading engineering site audits within Amazon’s owned or colo data centers
