Job Description

Amazon is seeking an Application Engineer with physical stores checkout domain knowledge and strong technology skills to join the Checkout Engineering team in Austin, TX.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with Checkout systems i.e. POS, SCO
• Experience designing monitoring and alerting systems for critical business applications
• Root cause analysis and complex problem solving skills
• Interact with business customers to understand and document their business processes and requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform gap analysis to determine checkout system configuration and development changes
• Building tools and services supporting checkout systems
• Create design specifications for feature enhancements and integration points of POS systems
• Building monitoring solutions for effective detection and triage of issues
• Developing automated alerting systems based on transaction log analysis
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet business requirements
