Network Development Engineer Apprentice, , AWS Opportunity for Veterans

Job Description

This apprenticeship opportunity is for U.S. citizens who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including Reserves, National Guard, and service member spouses. The position involves helping U.S. Intelligence Community agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions using the latest technologies.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have served in the U.S. Armed Forces or be a service member spouse
• Experience with network and Unix systems engineering
• Willingness to support off-hours operations escalation pager rotation
• Ability to travel to data center/network sites and Amazon/customer offices as needed
• Must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

Responsibilities

• Drive the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community
• Work with Network Engineers to deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions
• Own and transform networking projects related to deployment, implementation, scaling, and optimization
• Partner with Infrastructure organization on configurations standards and tools
• Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers for smooth roll-out of new designs and products
