Wireless Network Development Engineer, Operations, IT, & Support Engineering

Job Description

The Wireless Network Development Engineer will be responsible for developing software-defined, automated, and scalable Wireless network infrastructure products to improve the reliability of Amazon's wireless services globally.

Requirements

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• 4+ years of working with Cisco and/or Juniper network gear
• 1+ year experience in Cisco/MIST wireless and related technology Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), Wireless Access Points (WAP)
• 2+ years of automation scripting using Python, Ansible experience

Responsibilities

• Identifying, developing, and delivering technical solutions to improve the availability of wireless network technologies
• Partnering with peer teams to understand customer problems and find solutions using wireless networking technologies
• Defining and metering the availability of network solutions to meet customer needs
• Automating infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and life cycle management
• Participating in a 24x7 escalation service on a shift rotation basis
• Developing automation to resolve wireless network failures
• Investigating challenging problems to identify root causes and make recommendations for improvement
• Creating and updating wireless network designs to improve reliability
• Mitigating and solving network availability risks
• Implementing metrics to measure wireless availability and identify performance risks
