Job Description

As a Senior Hardware Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and deployment of the Power Sub-system of next-generation servers and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in designing power sub-systems for high availability (five-9s) computer/storage/accelerator servers or other complex products
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
  • Experience in designing different power electronics circuit topologies, power sequencing techniques, and redundancy/failover mechanisms
  • Working knowledge of key components: FETs, controllers, magnetics, and thermal management
  • Experience with lab equipment for validation: oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads

Responsibilities

  • Architecture and design of power supplies, voltage regulation modules, power distribution, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to ensure high-quality designs
  • Lead the integration and delivery of power subsystem for servers
  • Develop automated monitoring and failure analysis services for server operation and scaling
  • Collaborate with other AWS software/firmware teams to monitor power subsystems and design failure prediction mechanisms
