Sr. Software Development Engineer - PostgreSQL Internals, Aurora DSQL

Job Description

Amazon Aurora DSQL is a serverless, distributed SQL database with virtually unlimited scale, highest availability, and zero infrastructure management. Senior engineer role focusing on adapting and extending PostgreSQL for a distributed sql architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Must have experience working with the PostgreSQL engine code

Responsibilities

• Adapting and extending PostgreSQL for a distributed sql architecture
• Enabling the team to deliver major version upgrades
• Reviewing designs across the query processing with a dependency on understanding of postgres internals
• Potential upstreaming changes to PostgreSQL either directly or through influencing the community
