Sr. Automated Test / Sys Dev Engineer, Project Kuiper

Job Description

Amazon's Project Kuiper is developing a constellation of low earth orbit satellites to provide broadband internet service to unserved and underserved populations worldwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years relevant work experience
• Experience in Electrical Hardware design and/or verification
• Experience in designing automated test systems with robotics
• Experience with designing end to end hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) systems
• Experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++ or Shell
• Experience with Linux/Unix

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of key infrastructure to support a communications system team’s development and verification work
• Design scalable and flexible test systems that evolve with project needs
• Optimize test processes to reduce test time
• Develop user-friendly tools enabling non-technical operators to manage test apparatus
• Generate clear, accurate, and comprehensive test reports
• Collaborate with lead hardware engineers to seamlessly integrate PCB designs into automated test environments
• Make daily high-value judgments to meet system performance targets
• Adapt quickly to maintain schedules despite unexpected challenges
• Implement, validate, and optimize digital/analog lab set-ups
• Configure test equipment for automated operation
• Work with other team members to investigate design approaches and prototype new technology
• Drive own projects from design through planning to execution
• Plan and coordinate feature improvements and upgrades
• Analyze and improve availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security, and performance of services
• Develop and maintain tools
