Sr. Electrical Engineer, Colocation Regional Engineering (CRE)

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking an engineer with a passion for data center design to join their team. The role involves collaborating with various teams to assess and select colocation facilities that meet business requirements, influence data center standards, and lead engineering projects globally.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline
• 6+ years of focused experience in Data Center or Carrier-class Telecommunications design, engineering, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) of data center critical environment infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and telecommunications facilities within the region
• Review vendor critical infrastructure designs and perform risk analysis for fit-for-use/service determination
• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation
• Lead design initiatives for existing data center upgrades and solutions
• Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
