Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Systems Development Engineer to support the Amazon Logistics WW Central Engineering engineering team. This individual will challenge current processes, equipment, procedures, and electrical/controls specifications in our delivery stations to come up with creative and implementable process improvement initiatives with a focus on AB PLC/HMI and vision systems development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or computer science, Engineering Technology, or other related Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in Electrical/Control systems in a relay/PLC based controls design, development, implementation in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production / manufacturing environment
• 2+ years’ experience directly developing control strategies in CODESYS
• Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards (IEC 62061, IEC 13849, or IEC 61508)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex control systems using Allen Bradley PLCs and CODESYS
• Develop hardware/firmware interfaces and IoT solutions
• Create and maintain PLC/HMI software and vision systems
• Establish electrical and controls design standards
• Implement system health monitoring and self-healing automation
• Manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously
• Lead technical design reviews for control systems and simulations
• Coordinate with global design teams and vendors
• Drive process improvements and technical implementation
• Review and integrate new MHE technologies
