Job Description

Lead Hardware Engineer position at Amazon Device Climate Tech Accelerator program focusing on developing decarbonization solutions for integration into Amazon's products, services, and operations.

Requirements

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
• Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup, and circuit board layout
• Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability
• Experience in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware development efforts for decarbonization solutions balancing safety, reliability, usability, and financial viability
• Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor to director-level leadership teams
• Align teams toward coherent architecture strategies for climate tech projects
• Lead design reviews for sub-systems with a focus on decarbonization solutions
• Develop and implement sustainability requirements early in the product development process
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of decarbonization solutions
• Evaluate and push for reasonable trade-offs to enable progress in decarbonization efforts
• Consider the impact of design decisions on contract manufacturers and sustainable manufacturing processes
• Demonstrate quantifiable carbon reductions early in the development process
• Mentor and develop talent within the team, fostering sustainability-focused engineering practices
