Sr. Software Engineer - Digital Twin, Project Kuiper

Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the satellite bus systems team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• Experience in building and deploying models, statistical analysis, signal processing, simulations, regression, optimization, and data analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholder, peer teams and customers to build and deploy digital twin models that track the health of hardware systems
• Perform simulations, scenario testing, and predictive analysis to optimize system performance
• Develop/utilize monitoring and alerting systems to track space and ground infrastructure health
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and test infrastructure teams to integrate, test, and validate new features
• Develop cloud native software systems in Python, Java or another modern language
• Automate operational workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve system efficiency
• Build and maintain robust and well-documented APIs
• Lead technical roadmap definition, requirements & feature planning, and performance improvements
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to the team
