Senior Software Engineer - Query Processing, Aurora DSQL

Job Description

Seeking an engineer to enhance the query optimization and execution layer of Amazon Aurora DSQL, a serverless, distributed SQL database with active-active high availability and strong data consistency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 4+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Strong background in database system internals and query processing fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse teams to impact the global customer base by solving technical problems at every layer of the stack
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions for service performance, durability, cost, and security
• Research and implement solutions for the best customer experiences
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and communicate with stakeholders
• Work in a startup-like development environment on high-impact solutions for a large customer base
