System Development Engineer II, AWS Network Infrastructure

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a seasoned system development engineer to join their team responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all AWS global infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• 3+ years experience working in a large-scale IT, software systems or Data Center environment
• 3+ years Linux development experience
• Experience building services using AWS products
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines build processes
• Knowledge of major Internet routing protocols
• Experience with Optical networking
• Strong understanding of commodity servers, operating systems, and network devices
• Strong track record of launching projects of significant complexity
• In-depth knowledge of networking and/or systems technologies
• Experience in agile management methodologies

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, implementation, and quality of services
• Develop DevOps and automation tasks for test infrastructure
• Use and develop tools and processes to collect & rationalize data
• Develop best in class software systems for automating Amazon's network
• Work closely with Network Engineering teams for software roll-outs
• Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues
• Design and build cloud-computing systems for diverse customers
• Contribute to documentation of process and procedures
• Design and recommend optimization for service delivery and fleets
