Software Development Engineer, EC2 Instance Networking

Job Description

Join the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) VPC Dataplane team to shape the future of virtualized networking in one of the world's biggest public clouds. This role involves working on the packet pipeline that underlies all EC2 VPC instances, delivering high-performance solutions with a focus on Software Defined Networking (SDN).

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms and data structures
• Linux operating system knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP
• Experience developing complex software systems successfully delivered to customers

Responsibilities

• Being an engineer on a small team, mentoring junior engineers, ensuring the right development practices are followed
• Leading architecture decisions, participating in designs, design review, code review, and implementation
• Maintaining current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology
• Communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements and describe software features
