Sr. HW Systems Engineer, Project Kuiper

Job Description

As the Gateway Modem Systems Engineer at Amazon's Project Kuiper, you will lead the RF Hardware team in defining, designing, and delivering modem system level engineering requirements for a Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation providing broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or 7+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in hardware/PHY design of modem boards, ASICs, SiP, or SOICs
• Solid understanding of digital communication systems theory
• Experience with high-speed digital serial bus such as SERDES, JESD204.x, Interlaken, etc
• Experience with Linux embedded software/firmware and Python

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define and drive a roadmap for high throughput satellite communication links
• Own Modem requirements and collaborate with communication systems team
• Develop modem architectures and coordinate with spacecraft & ground systems integration teams
• Debug and resolve inter-system interactions encompassing diverse problem domains
• Ensure compliance with export control requirements
