Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

Job Description

The Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer provides full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design to maintenance, troubleshoots failures, and develops innovative solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Coursework in commercial/industrial power systems and/or mechanical systems
• Experience managing engineering projects and consultants
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Experience using web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis, and create Corrective Action documentation for site/equipment failures
• Support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews
• Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and design-solutions
• Interface with internal data center operations team, design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
• Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon's data centers
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
