Senior Industrial Engineer - Fulfillment, Project Kuiper

Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network with a mission to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities globally. The Senior Industrial Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, defining solutions, and improving operational and industrial mechanisms at the site.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse/manufacturing operations, process improvements, industrial design, robotics/automation, or related fields
• 3+ years’ experience with SAP EWM or similar warehouse management systems
• Experience performing Capacity and Headcount analysis at organizational level
• Experience with developing, planning, and deploying work cells in warehousing/manufacturing environments
• Experience with process mapping, value stream mapping, leading Kaizens
• Familiarity with warehouse operations
• Experience with Statistical Process Control

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop facility layout and work cell designs to optimize material flow through various operations
• Evaluate and implement material handling and storage solutions using technology, robotics, automation, and data analytics
• Specify, lead, and develop analysis associated with labor, capacity, cycle time, headcount, and capex requirements
• Manage multiple projects, tasks, and collaborate with internal and external business partners
• Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics (KPIs) to drive smart decisions
• Coordinate with operations and technology teams to develop business requirements and product features
• Lead drafting & development of Standard Operating Procedures for Operations Team partners
