Job Description

The Worldwide Innovation and Design team is seeking a Simulation Engineer to lead discrete-event simulations for our Last Mile (AMZL) network technologies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or equivalent
  • Familiar with Discrete Event Simulation (DES) of processes, modelling dependent systems
  • Experience with Process simulation tools (Preference Flexsim)
  • Experience in Industrial process environment (Manufacturing, Logistics)
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of complex discrete-event simulations that validate new technologies early in their development cycle
  • Utilize expertise in simulation software and programming to create digital experiments that optimize processes and influence mechanical designs
  • Own strategic modeling projects, establish best practices, and influence design decisions through data-driven insights
  • Collaborate with Hardware Development Engineers to understand automation system's requirements
  • Design simulation experiments, test critical aspects of the technology, program model parameters, run scenarios, and analyze results
  • Meet with cross-functional teams to present findings and recommend optimizations
  • Mentor junior engineers on simulation best practices and coordinate with vendors on complex multi-system simulations
