Embedded Software Dev Engineer, Simulation Foundations

Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit, bringing fast and affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

Requirements

• ARM A, M series, or ARC processor emulator experience (e.g., QEMU)
• Knowledge of networking protocols and applications, including TCP/IP
• Experience with embedded software testing tool development
• Expertise with Linux, RTOS, and FreeRTOS
• Experience with Docker and designing and implementing distributed cloud-based services and APIs
• Solid aptitude in protocol standards such as IPv4, IPv6, Mobile IP, LTE, 802.16e, 802.11b/g/n/ac
• Strong theoretical background in Wireless Networks
• Experience with systems integration and testing methodologies
• Knowledge of network protocols and applications including TCP/IP, QoS algorithms, cellular/satellite network protocols, software-defined networks, network security
• Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment & continuous monitoring

Responsibilities

• Design and implement globally available distributed systems for realistic virtual Kuiper environments
• Invent new tools for frequent and reliable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis
• Develop tools for test execution across multiple environments
• Design and implement embedded modeling and simulation for broadband access technologies
• Write high-quality Linux-based software for common processors and microcontrollers
• Partner with various engineering teams and mentor junior engineers
