Job Description

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to design safety-relevant robotic solutions and platforms, applying established safety principles and standards to an emerging industry.

Requirements

• BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience with complex electromechanical systems
• Experience with safety programs from concept through certification/regulatory process
• Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction
• Experience working in a regulated industry
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design and development of safety-relevant parts of machines, robots, and robotic solutions
• Performing hazard and risk assessments, safety analyses of robotics and industrial automation equipment
• Authoring safety requirement specifications, safety management plans, safety concepts, designs, and verification and validation plans
• Participating in interdisciplinary teams for product designs from concept to production
• Driving projects to closure ensuring regulatory compliance
