Software Dev Engineer, Simulation Foundations

Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit, with a mission to provide fast, affordable broadband to underserved communities worldwide. The Software Engineer role involves designing and implementing distributed systems for realistic virtual Kuiper environments.

Requirements

• ARM A, M series or ARC processor emulator experience
• Knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP
• Embedded software testing tool development
• Experience with FreeRTOS or real-time operation systems
• Expertise with Linux and RTOS
• Solid aptitude in protocol standards such as IPv4, IPv6, Mobile IP, LTE, 802.16e, 802.11b/g/n/ac
• Strong theoretical background in Wireless Networks
• Experience with systems integration and testing methodologies
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts

Responsibilities

• Develop tools for software deployment, test execution, and data analysis
• Design and implement distributed cloud-based services and APIs
• Collaborate with various engineering teams for system development
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Design and implement embedded modeling and simulation for broadband access technologies
