Language Engineer II, Operations Team

Job Description

The Alexa Shopping team is seeking a Language Engineer with experience in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Large Language Models to drive design of Alexa Shopping features.

Requirements

• Experience in Python or another scripting languages
• Experience in Java basics
• Experience with database queries
• Practical knowledge of version control and agile development
• Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and dynamic work environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists and software engineers to design APIs and evaluate LLM performance
• Produce and manipulate different types of language data, analyze, and provide efficient solutions
• Lead data collection, define scope, provide guidelines, run data evaluation
• Engineer prompts for generative AI outputs
• Automate operations, perform data analysis using Python or other scripting language
• Advocate strict adherence to annotation guidelines
• Test and deploy changes to Alexa's language understanding codebase
• Identify and solve production issues impacting customer experience
• Collaborate with linguists, scientists, and designers to create optimal solutions
• Own customer-facing machine learning models for specific features
• Use modeling tools to bootstrap and test new functionalities
